- Avoid brushing in the area of the biopsy for 1 week or until all sutures are removed
- Take Tylenol or ibuprofen (Motrin and Advil) as needed for pain
- Bleeding or oozing may occur post biopsy, if bleeding becomes heavy apply heavy pressure for 10 minutes.
- Most biopsies are small and do not require an alteration in diet. Dr. Ratliff will advise you if a restricted diet is indicated
- Normal athletic activity may be resumed 24 hours following your biopsy. If pain or bleeding increase during activity, discontinue the activity.
- Results from the biopsy can take up to 2 weeks to be received
